Volunteer

Office Support

Volunteers needed to answer the phone, help organize donations, and other tasks that arise in the administrative office.

Promise Center Advocate

Volunteers are paired with a staff member during weekday evenings (5pm-11pm) and on weekends (7am-11pm) to provide a caring presence at the Promise Center. This could mean helping a child with homework, assisting with dinner, accompanying them on an outing, or just being available if a need arises. Available shifts are 3-4 hours each. Training and a background check are required.

Promise Center Meals

Volunteers are needed to prepare/purchase and deliver hot dinners to the Promise Center seven days per week. The number of residents vary and this, along with any dietary restrictions, will be communicated to the donor prior to the delivery.

Promise Center Enrichment

Families living at the Promise Center benefit from activities scheduled within or outside of the facility (arts and crafts, picnics, swim parties, etc.) Groups are welcome to sponsor an enrichment activity, donate tickets, etc.

Fundraising/Resource Development

There are many areas of need not covered by dedicated grants that we must raise funds for. Some of these expenses are case management services, utilities and maintenance of The Promise Center, breakfast meals for clients, and direct financial assistance to clients and other neighbors in need.

We welcome and will support all efforts to raise funds or donated items to help vulnerable individuals and families have safe, stable, and permanent housing!

In addition, we sponsor several fundraisers each year and are always in need of volunteers on our fundraising committee.

Outreach and Engagement Lunchroom Meals

Every other week we welcome people living unsheltered in the community to join us for a hot lunch at our Day Center in Flemington. When you have no access to a kitchen it is difficult to have a hot meal. This provides our O&E clients with a chance to relax, and perhaps take a shower, while enjoying a hot lunch.
