Students and Homeless Families Create Film
During 2009 and 2010 five high school students (four from Voorhees High School and one from Hunterdon Central High School) created a film about homelessness in Hunterdon County, NJ. The director of the film, Brandon Rowe, was the creative force behind the project. Geleen Donovan, Family Promise Executive Director, is the producer of the film. The film crew included Kelly Donovan (interviewer), Victoria Barton, Billy Michelsen and Kristen Cook. Kelly, Billy and Kristen have been volunteers for Family Promise/IHN for many years at their respective congregations. Victoria is also one of the film participants, along with her mother.
The film was officially premiered on June 5, 2010 at the Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ. Almost 300 people were in attendance. The film participants took part in a question and answer session after the film. There were musical performances by high school groups, students and local musicians.
If your school, congregation or group is interested in showing the film, please contact us for more details.
