Fundraiser

Family Promise of Hunterdon County will host its first-ever virtual gala fundraiser, “An Evening of Promise: Building Foundations for the Future” to raise funds in support of our mission, vision, and goals to end homelessness and support those facing housing instability. The event will take place Thursday, October 14, 2021, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funds raised will allow us to provide residential support services in Hunterdon County, along with other essential services that promote self-sufficiency, healing, and independence.

We hope to raise $100,000 for that gala, and with your help, we will exceed that goal! As the only family shelter in Hunterdon County, and with eviction moratoriums coming to an end, our services and supports are needed now more than ever. Many people don’t think of Hunterdon County as a place where homelessness would be a problem, but nearly 5% of the population lives in poverty with incomes 30 percent or less of the Area Median Income (AMI). An additional 18% is known as Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE), and are vulnerable in Hunterdon County.  For reference, ALICE households have incomes above the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) but not high enough to afford essentials in the communities where they live. FPHC primarily serves families and when space is available, single women, who have become homeless due to a major life event (i.e. domestic violence, loss of income, etc.).
